MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Welcome. I'm Pooja Sharma, founder of Innertune Counselling, and I'm here to support you on your journey toward healing, understanding, and meaningful change.

With over 13 years of experience as a teacher, mentor, and community advocate, I've dedicated my career to helping people—children, adolescents, couples, and families—navigate life's most challenging moments. I specialise in child and adolescent counselling, couple therapy, and family support across NSW and Australia, offering both in-person and online sessions.

My approach is grounded in genuine human connection. I believe that lasting change happens not through technique alone, but through a safe, trusting relationship where you feel truly heard and understood.

My Edge : Lived Experience

My Story & Why I Do This Work

I bring genuine understanding through lived experience. I've navigated PTSD, domestic violence, separation, and grief while raising my children as a single mother. This journey has taught me profound empathy, resilience, and the transformative power of healing.

When you share your story with me, I don't just hear the words—I recognise the weight behind them. This authenticity, combined with my professional training, makes my work distinctly healing and deeply human.

My Approach

My Approach & Values

I integrate evidence-based trauma-informed care with solution-focused therapy—proven approaches for Australian families navigating anxiety, family conflict, and complex trauma. But technique alone isn't enough. Lasting change emerges through genuine human connection and a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety.

Cultural Safety & Respect

I deeply respect the Custodians of the Land and embrace culturally safe practice. Every client—whether Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, or from any background—is met with cultural humility, unconditional positive regard, and genuine safety. I also honour spiritual and existential dimensions of healing, recognising that meaning and connection are vital to recovery from trauma, grief, and separation.
