Who it’s for

Support that fits your relationships and family

Online counselling offers a way to access support without travelling to a clinic. We work together at a pace that respects your needs, cultural background and circumstances.

  • Individuals

Support with relationship distress, breakups, betrayal, boundaries and separation.

  • Couples

Support with communication, trust, recurring conflict and decisions about your relationship, where joint work is safe and suitable.

  • Parents and families

Parent consultations, family communication, separation and co-parenting support. Child and teenage sessions are considered individually.

  • Other relationship pathways

Premarital and commitment counselling, and ADHD-informed relationship and parenting support. This does not include ADHD diagnosis or medication advice.

Step by step

How online appointments work

  1. Request a fit call or appointment

Start with a free 15-minute phone or video fit call. This is a brief suitability conversation, not counselling, assessment or crisis support.

  2. Complete intake and discuss consent

Before counselling begins, we discuss your goals, whether online work is appropriate, confidentiality, technology and safety arrangements. You can ask questions and discuss alternatives.

  3. Receive your link by email

Once your video appointment is confirmed, your Zoom link and joining instructions are emailed to the address you have agreed is safe to use. Please keep the link private.

  4. Meet from a private space

Join from an agreed location in Australia where you can speak freely. At the start, we confirm your location, privacy and how to reconnect if the call drops.

Appointment times

10 am–10 pm, Monday to Saturday, Sydney time

All online appointment times are shown in Sydney time: AEST outside daylight saving and AEDT during daylight saving. Before an online session, you will be asked to confirm the Australian state or territory and the physical location you will attend from. This helps with safety planning and access to appropriate local services if needed.

If you are elsewhere in Australia, please check the local time shown in your appointment confirmation. Tell me if the conversion is unclear or if your location changes, for example when travelling.

This appointment window is not a crisis-support or message-monitoring service.

Suitability

Is online counselling suitable for me?

Online counselling is considered individually, rather than assumed to suit everyone. During the fit call and initial intake, we discuss:

  • What you would like support with and whether it is within my scope of practice.
  • Your ability to talk privately and safely, including any concerns about being overheard or monitored.
  • Access to a suitable device, internet connection and a telephone backup.
  • Communication, accessibility, language and cultural needs.
  • Current wellbeing, safety concerns and any local support you may need.
  • Consent and caregiver involvement where a child or teenager is attending.

If online counselling is not suitable, we discuss in-person support, a different session arrangement or referral. Suitability is reviewed as our work continues.

Privacy

Preparing your private space

  • Choose a place to speak freely

    • Use a quiet room where others cannot hear or see the session.
    • Use headphones where possible; remember that others may still hear your own voice.
    • Let me know who is present or nearby, including a support person or interpreter.
    • Do not attend while driving or operating equipment.
  • Protect your device and connection

    • Use a trusted device and a private, password-protected connection where possible.
    • Keep your device and Zoom application updated.
    • Close unrelated applications and silence notifications.
    • Keep your appointment link private and do not forward it.

If privacy is difficult or someone monitors your device, email or calls, tell me through a contact method that is safe for you. We can discuss alternatives; you do not need to share sensitive details in the website enquiry form.

Sessions are not recorded by the practice. Please do not record, photograph or use automated transcription or AI meeting assistants during sessions. Confidentiality and its legal limits are discussed before counselling begins. Online communication carries privacy and technology risks, even when safeguards are used.

Couples joining from separate locations

Where safe and suitable, partners can join the same Zoom session from separate locations in Australia. Each person needs a private space, their own device and headphones where possible.

Before joint sessions, we discuss consent, how individual information will be handled, each partner’s location and contact details, and what happens if someone disconnects. I may meet with each person separately as part of the suitability and safety process.

Joining from different locations does not remove concerns about coercion or family violence. Joint sessions may not be appropriate where someone feels afraid, controlled or unable to speak freely. Safety and specialist support come first.

Children and teenagers

Online counselling for children aged 5–12 and teenagers is considered after a fit call and initial intake. Age alone does not determine suitability.

We discuss the young person’s needs, communication and developmental abilities, comfort with video, privacy, consent and caregiver support. For younger children, a parent consultation may be the most appropriate starting point.

Before sessions begin, we agree who needs to be available, how parents or caregivers are involved, and what information can be shared. Young people’s views and privacy matter, alongside safeguarding responsibilities and applicable consent requirements.

If online sessions do not provide appropriate support, we discuss another option or referral.

Connection drops and phone sessions

If Zoom drops, rejoin using the same link. If we can’t reconnect, I’ll call the number agreed at intake, and we’ll continue by phone where that’s safe and suitable, or reschedule.

Phone sessions can also be arranged in advance for individual relationship counselling, separation support and parent consultations. Couples, family and young-person sessions are by video unless agreed otherwise. Your confirmation will say which.

In an emergency, don’t wait for a callback: call 000.

Safety

Safety and urgent support

Innertune Counselling is not an emergency or crisis service. Email, text and website enquiries are not monitored continuously.

  • Immediate danger

Call 000 if you or someone else is in immediate danger, or attend the nearest emergency department when appropriate.

  • Crisis support across Australia

    Lifeline: 13 11 14, available 24/7.

  • Support where you are

Local emergency and crisis options depend on where you are physically located. We confirm your location at the start of each online session. In NSW, the NSW Mental Health Line is 1800 011 511; for other states and territories, see the safety page.

Emergency and local services near Westmead and Blacktown

Westmead Hospital Emergency Department: Darcy Road, Westmead NSW 2145.

Blacktown Hospital Emergency Department: Blacktown Road, Blacktown NSW 2148.

Both emergency departments operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In immediate danger, call 000 rather than waiting to contact the practice.

For access to Western Sydney community mental health services, call the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511. This can help identify the appropriate adult, child or youth pathway.

If you are outside NSW, your intake safety plan will identify services appropriate to your actual location. NSW-specific numbers are not a substitute for your local arrangements.

Common questions

Are Zoom sessions telehealth?

Yes. Telehealth means care delivered remotely. Zoom video counselling and agreed telephone counselling are both forms of telehealth.

Do I need a referral?

You can contact Innertune directly. See Fees and FAQs for current fees, rebates and cancellation arrangements.

Can I attend while travelling?

Please tell me before an appointment if your location will change. This page describes services for clients located in Australia. Overseas attendance needs separate consideration and is not automatically available.

What if I cannot find a private space?

Let me know using a safe contact method. We can discuss another appointment time, a different location, in-person support or referral. Headphones alone do not guarantee privacy.

Next step

Start with a conversation

You do not need to have everything worked out before reaching out. A brief fit call can help clarify whether online counselling at Innertune is the right next step. Please do not include clinical or sensitive information in your initial website enquiry.

The fit call is a brief, free chat to check whether Innertune suits what you’re looking for. It isn’t counselling, assessment or crisis support.
